Deroy Ekow Taylor, popularly known in as Roy-X TALYOR, is a proud Son of the Legendary Ebo Taylor, an acclaimed Ghanaian Musician of international repute and the originator of the highlife/Afrobeats music genre.

Coming from a pure music background, Roy X started developing strong roots in the music of all forms at a very tender age, listening to and mastering collections from all over the globe, most times with the assistance of siblings, who by virtue of their common origin, are themselves, unrepentant music lovers and accomplished instrumentalists.
Thus, armed with a repertoire of musical sense and an ensemble of musical instruments at his disposal, Roy X’s rise to fame in the musical space was an accomplishment waiting to happen.
Although Roy X, by default, was born with certain special musical qualities, his unique style, energy and showmanship are a demonstration that he has consciously, over time, developed, refined and polished his musical traits and talent, thereby propelling him into stardom and international recognition.
With the strong influence of Ebow Taylor on him, Roy X learned very early in his musical career how a fusion of highlife music with other world music genres could influence lives in the global entertainment arena.
Without doubts, inculcating the traditions of highlife music in other music genres would widen the scope and horizon of the musician and also reach out to a bigger audience on the global stage.
It is in pursuit of such a dream and also in honor of Highlife music that the Taylormade EP was born. The creation of the EP was centered around EBO Taylor, reflecting his ideas, beliefs, melodies and creative abilities, which are not limited by space and time.
Through Divine Providence, and after a series of research and production techniques, the Taylormade EP has become a reality, bringing to life real experiences in the unique brass section, keys section, percussion, and combination of guitar strings in an awesome arrangement.
The TAYLOR MADE EP is thus dedicated to the legendary Ebo Taylor for his great impact on Highlife and Afrobeat. It is also in recognition and expression of gratitude to the Legend for the influences he has had on the musical career of Roy X. All the songs on the EP are so powerful that it would be difficult to select a favourite.
The EP features members of the Saltpond City Band including Long John (Trumpet/Sax), Abizie (Trumpet), Eric Agyeman (Guitar), Roy X (Guitar, Bass, Percussion) and a special guest, Akablay (Guitar) on ‘Money’.
