Change Your Voting Pattern- Bawumia Tells Afram Plains Residents

The Vice President, Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia is urging the residents of both Afram Plains North and South Constituencies in the Eastern Region to change their voting pattern in the upcoming general elections.

Addressing the residents of Donkokrom and Ekye -Amanfrom as part of his regional tour, the Vice President explained that the people of Afram Plains have voted for one party for 28 years which hasn’t yielded any positive development for their area.

He added that “we vote for development. Your NDC Member of Parliament is supposed to lobby for developmental projects for you. But your voting style has not helped your development, the people you vote don’t care for you. For 28 years and you’re still not developing.”

At Donkokrom and Tease, he took the opportunity to introduce the two parliamentary candidates; Nana Okore and Willie Hor, respectively and appealed to the electorate to vote for them as the next Members of Parliament for area.

The Vice President noted how the area has been bombarded with poor roads and infrastructure attributing it consistent faith and believe in one political ideology which has not even given the area any development being it visible or social interventions.

“We are the real planners of development. We are going to build model Senior High Schools across the country for our free SHS beneficiaries. This is what development is about, not any intolerable developmental ideology, he said.

At Donkokrom, the Atakorahene, Nana Akuamoah Boateng Tano II on his behalf pleaded with the government to make the agricultural sector very attractive and appealing to the youth of the area because that’s what they have known growing up and it also helps increase crop yields in the country.

He again pleaded with the government to increase and tighten the security of the area due to a high number of armed robbery cases emancipating every day.

The Atakorahene, asked the government to also provide major institutions in Afram Plains such as military training camps and teachers training colleges.

According to the chief, the area has a vast open land which can contain all that he mentioned and the place is also serene and conducive for such activities.
