Ghanaian celebrities are in for some good news in the midst of the chaos that erupted with the arrest of Shatta Wale and Medikal.

A slew of Ghanaian celebrities have been verified on the Bird app which means that it would be very easy to differentiate them from parody accounts that have been created by some mischievous people to dupe fans.

Celebrities and social media activists looking to apply for verification on Twitter through its follower count option need just under 100,000 followers on the platform to be eligible. What Twitter looks out for before they verify you is if your follower count lies in the top 0.05% of active accounts in your geographic region, or engagement in the top 0.05%.

Depending on how audience sizes grow, Twitter keeps bending the rules concerning verification of accounts.

The list are: Dj Vyrusky (entertainment), Mensa (Entertainment), Gyakie (entertainment), Wanlov (Entertainment and Creator) and Richie Mensah (entertainment), Kurt Okraku (Sports), Phaddo (Sports), Giovani (news and entertainment), Kuami Eugene (entertainment), Serwah Amihere (News), Bola Ray (news and entertainment), Sammens (News).

In a related development, Kuami Eugene became the topic of discussion some month back after controversial United States-based social commentator Twene Jonas got verified on Twitter.

Fans of the singer stormed the micro-blogging site to express how uncomfortable it is for them to see the singer not verified on the site even after clocking over one million followers on Twitter.
