Popular Ghanaian Gospel musician, Brother Sammy has revealed that his colleague, Ernest Opoku who once served him back in the days sees him as a competition despite the fact that he mentored him.

According to Brother Sammy, Ernest Opoku used to be one of his sheeps back in the days before he broke into the music scene. He said that Ernest Opoku has followed him to many church programs and mostly, he allows him to sing before he preaches the word of God to the audience.

Speaking in an interview with Abeiku Santana on the United aired on UTV, Brother Sammy revealed that Ernest Opoku has refused to give him credit as his mentor. He recounted that a producer once snubbed Ernest Opoku to produce him, Brother Sammy when he first came to the music scene, so Ernest Opoku since then has seen him as a competition.

He also recounted that Ernest Opoku once snubbed him in public after he approached him to discuss business with him at a crusade.

In other news, Lynx Entertainment signed artist, Eugene Kwame Marfo, well known as Kuami Eugene has poured out his concerns in how Ghanaians are mostly seen on the video-sharing platform, TikTok jamming to songs from other musicians from other countries rather than using Ghanaian songs in their videos.

According to the “Bunker” hitmaker, the Highlife genre is mostly not credited by social media influencers because they refuse to make it trend on social media and rather channel their energies in promoting that of other countries in their TikTok videos.

Speaking in a recent interview with Foster Agor on Starr FM, Kuami Eugene stated that the older folks who have fought so hard to maintain the highlife genre should not be discredited for their enormous contributions to the Ghanaian music industry.
