Son of former Ghana coach, C.K Akonnor, Charles Jesaja Hermann Akonnor has revealed his huge admiration for Africa’s iconic rapper Sarkodie in an interview published on Omasports.com.

While showing glimpses of his love for music, the youngster said he grew up listening to songs from Highlife legend Ofori Amponsah as well as songs from Nigerian Afrobeat stars Wizkid and Burna Boy.

CJ Akonnor who plays for Belgium pro league side KV Kortrij described Sarkodie as a rap god whose longevity in the mainstream testifies the fact that he’s on top of his game.

Akonnor said: “I like to listen to Ofori Amponsah. He’s an old-school musician. But right now, Migos is my guy. In Africa, Omah Lay and many Nigerian artists doing good music right now, like WizKid, Burna Boy. Of course, Sarkodie is the legend.

“American music, my favourite artist is Drake and Pop Smoke – because you can feel the energy in his music but he sadly passed away,” he said assertively.

In a related development, Sarkodie recently spoke highly of Black Sherif to the international community in a recent interview with DJ Semtex on ‘Hip hop, Raised Me.’

When the African iconic rapper was asked which emerging talent he would like to put on or has a huge prospect, Sarkodie without any hesitation swung into full appellations mode by dropping huge epithets on the youngster who has been hailed as a breath of fresh air.

He told DJ Semtex in a video shared on his Podcast that Black Sherif is the future of Ghanaian music because his talent is huge. Watch the full interview in the video below;
