I left OGB Music without receiving a dime from the label – Fameye says it all in recent interview

Ghanaian singer Fameye has stated that he ended his working relationship with former label OGB without receiving a dime from the 2.5 million sing-on money.

According to him, although the money was used to fund his music videos and other expenses, he did not receive actual money from the sales of his songs and streams from OGB .

In an interview with TV3 on the New Day Show, Fameye stated that although his relationship with OGB ended abruptly, money made from his songs are channelled to the label. However, he appreciated the role the label played in catapulting his career to the next level.

He had the following to say:

“I’m just glad I was able to pay. He still has all of my songs. He is profiting from the streams of my songs.”

“Talent is money, and the record label is bringing physical money as well. So we’re both supposed to do business. However, we make it appear as if record labels or managers are assisting artists while the artists have nothing to offer. While they are bringing in talent and a lot of energy”.

“Aside from music, there is nothing else I can do. Even if no one ever listens to my music, I will never stop making it.”

“Those who appreciate the artistic value of my videos are those who live outside of Ghana and beyond.”
