Sept. 22 (UPI) — Swedish series Young Royals will return for a second season.
Netflix confirmed Wednesday that it renewed the teen drama series for Season 2.
Netflix shared the news alongside a video featuring the show’s cast, including Edvin Ryding, Omar Rudberg, Malte Gårdinger, Frida Argento and Nikita Uggla.
“Thank you for watching Young Royals,” Rudberg said.
“Thank you for enjoying our story,” Ryding added.
Season 2 will premiere in 2022.
Young Royals centers on the fictional Prince Wilhelm (Ryding), a Swedish prince attending an elite boarding school. The series follows Wilhelm as he attends school and struggles with the challenges of being gay while in the public eye.
Young Royals is created by Lisa Ambjörn, Sofie Forsman and Tove Forsman. The series premiered on Netflix in July.
