Sept. 15 (UPI) — Lovebirds Dexter Lumis and Indir Hartwell got married and Tommaso Ciampa became the new NXT Champion on WWE NXT.

Tuesday’s episode acted as a relaunch for NXT, which WWE referred to as NXT 2.0. The show was given a new logo, a colorful arena that replaced the black and gold color scheme and had a renewed focus on upcoming and coming wrestlers.

Lumis and Hartwell’s wedding was the main event of the night with multiple NXT stars attending the in-ring ceremony along with general manager William Regal and one of Lumis’ zombies.

Hartwell’s teammates from The Way including Johnny Gargano, his wife Candice LeRae and Austin Theory, also attended the wedding with Gargano being the one to walk Hartwell down the aisle.

The priest asked if anybody had any objections, with multiple wrestlers raising their hands. Lumis silenced them all by opening his jacket to show that he was carrying his signature axe.

Hartwell poured her heart out as she read her vows. Lumis, who has never spoken, merely gave a thumbs up. This annoyed the priest with Lumis deciding to choke him out. NXT announcer and Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix then stepped in to officiate the wedding.

Lumis finally spoke his first words when he said “I do” and the pair officially became husband and wife. The wedding, in surprising fashion, is one of the only few in WWE history to happen without any major interference that would have derailed the ceremony.

Ciampa, in the main event, faced off against Pete Dunne, LA Knight and newcomer Von Wagner in a Fatal 4-Way match for the NXT Championship.

The match was made after former NXT Champion Samoa Joe was forced to relinquish the title on Monday due to injury. Wagner was added to the match in place of Kyle O’Reilly after Dunne and his partner Ridge Holland attacked him backstage.

Ciampa kept finding himself up against Dunne, who was able to land the Bitter End before Knight, who had started bleeding from his head, tossed Dunne out of the ring to steal the pin. Wagner put an end to that and nearly won after taking Knight out with an Olympic Slam.

Ciampa and Dunne later joined forces to both punch out Wagner. The grapplers then started brawling with Dunne coming out on top before he ate a Superplex from Knight. Wagner again took Knight down and nearly won before Ciampa broke up the pin.

Ciampa then performed the Fairy Tale Ending on Knight to win the match and become the new NXT Champion.

Also on WWE NXT, Mandy Rose returned with a new look and darker hair. She joined forces with Gigo Dolin and Jacy Jayne to take on Kacy Catanzaro, Kayden Carter and Sarray.

The match was made by Regal after Dolin and Jayne’s Tag Team match against Catanzao and Carter ended in a disqualification.

Rose battled with her rival Sarray and won the match after nailing Carter with a knee to the face.

Other moments from WWE NXT included newcomer Bron Breakker defeating Knight; Imperium defeating Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen; B-Fab of Hit Row making her in-ring debut and defeating Katrina Cortez; Carmelo Hayes forming a partnership with Trick Williams; Holland defeating Drake Maverick; and Julius and Brutus Creed defeating Dan Jarmon and Trevor Skelly.

Breakker is the son of professional wrestling legend Rick Steiner, best known as one half of The Steiner Brothers. Breakker let Ciampa know that he was interested in challenging him for the NXT Championship.
