According to the singer, he always knew he could sing but never took that very seriously because he felt he was called to be a dancer. He revealed that he used to go to studios just to make fun of musicians whose vocals are not good enough like his.

In an interview on Hitz FM on the Daybreak Hitz show with Andy Dosty, Mr. Drew revealed that he once tried his luck on the Vodafone Icons reality show and the X-Factor but he was turned down.

He said that the judges presumed that he was not serious because he was always laughing when he got to the stage. He revealed that some of the judges are poorly dressed and their facial expressions got him laughing so hard so they had to turn him down.

He began to take his singing talent seriously after gaining access to the MTN Hitmaker in 2018. As a reminder, Mr. Drew was a dancer before he emerged into the music scene. He has been officially signed on the Highly Spiritual record label owned by the ace music producer, Kaywa.

With a few hits, Mr, Drew has managed to register his name on the lips of Ghanaians. He has been identified as one of the best singers in the music industry and recently won the Best New Artiste of the year.
