Sept. 10 (UPI) — Jennifer Love Hewitt is a mom of three.

The 42-year-old actress recently welcomed her third child, son Aidan James, with her husband, Brian Hallisay.

Hewitt shared the news Thursday on Instagram alongside a photo of her baby bump at the hospital. Hewitt and Hallisay’s older children, daughter Autumn, 7, and son Atticus, 6, had covered Hewitt’s bump with baby-themed temporary tattoos.

“Well this is how my kids sent me to the hospital. My belly was a big hit,” Hewitt captioned the post.

“‘It is said that women leave their bodies in labor… they travel to the stars to collect the souls of their babies, and return to this world together,'” she added. “It was my greatest honor to go and collect you Aidan James. Now back to snuggles and resting.”

Bachelor alum Ashley Iaconetti was among those to congratulate Hewitt in the comments.

“Aww congratulations! I kept checking your profile to see when he’d be born!” Iaconetti wrote.

Hewitt and Hallisay married in November 2013. Hewitt announced on Instagram in May that she was expecting her third child with Hallisay.

“Oh baby! We have another one on the way. So excited to finally share this news with all of you,” she wrote.

Hewitt told People that her pregnancy came as a welcome surprise.

“We had always been open to a third, but definitely didn’t think in the crazy year that the entire world was having that it would necessarily be this moment,” she said. “I feel like we’ve been able to so far raise two really special kids who will be great role models. This has been such a pleasant, beautiful, surprising gift in this time to be able to get to do all that again with another little human.”

Hewitt is known for playing Sarah Reeves Merrin in Party of Five and Melinda Gordon on Ghost Whisperer. She now stars as Maddie Buckley Kendall on the Fox series 9-1-1.
