The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2016 parliamentary candidate for Jomoro Constituency in the Western Region, Thomas Yankey alias ‘Nobody’ has lauded the former President, John Dramani Mahama for stating that the 2024 elections will be a “Do or Die affair”.

The former President and 2020 presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during a thank-you tour to the Bono region is said to have threatened on a Techiman-based Akina FM that the 2024 elections will be a Do or Die affair.

Mr. Mahama in the said interview alleged that the government has infiltrated the security services with New Patriotic Party (NPP) invincible force members which are detrimental to the security services.

Some Ghanaians have condemned the “Do or Die affair” statement by the former President of the Republic of Ghana.

But commenting on the statement, the 2016 Jomoro NDC Parliamentary Candidate, Thomas Yankey stated that former President John Mahama deserves commendation for motivating the NDC grassroots-based with the “Do or Die affairs” statement.

“President Mahama deserves a lot of thanks and appreciation for declaring and reminding us that the NDC is going to be vigilant henceforth. We embrace this declaration a hundred percent”, he said.

Thomas Yankey reminded Ghanaians that the members of NDC are not cowards and emphasized that they are committed to standing up against any bad means the governing NPP would adopt in the 2024 general elections.

“Let everybody be reminded that NDC is not coward. With this inspiration, we are prepared and committed to stand up to the excesses of this tyrannical government”, he stressed.

He ensured that” NDC will be wild awake till election 2024 is over. Bravery and courage will continue to be our hallmarks and nothing will quench this fire of “Do or die”!

He, therefore, took the opportunity to quiz the CSOs, Peace Council and Christian Council on what have they done after the 2020 elections where nine Ghanaians had been reported killed.
