Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe popularly known as Abronye DC has rebuffed claims by the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa that the private jet rented for President Akufo-Addo for his recent foreign travel costs $14,00 per hour.

This is just a deliberate attempt by the mischievous North Tongu legislature to throw dust into the eyes of the general public Abronye DC says, adding that he will petition the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service to institute immediate Investigations against MP.

A statement issued by the firebrand Regional chairman retorted that the North Tongu MP is lifting pictures of luxury jet from google websites and throwing them to the public as the supposed private jet rented for the President’s official travel.

Abronye further argued that “To add to that, at paragraph 10 of Okudzeto Ablakwa’s write up, he acknowledged the fact that the jet supposedly hired by the President has the capacity to accommodate only 19 persons.

As a matter of fact, the delegation that travelled with the President were more than 19. Taking into consideration the fact that the President travelled with some officials of the presidency, officials from the foreign affairs ministry including the minister, officials from the Free zone authority including the CEO, officials from the Ghana Investment Promotion Center, the security detail of the president and certainly not forgetting the cabin crew ie 6 attendants. It is clear that the number of people who travelled with the President exceeds the required number of persons allowed to be on the fligh.”

I have been reading and watching various analysis by some members of the NDC led by Hon Okudzeto Ablakwa insinuating that, the president hired another luxurious jet for his recent travel.

My simple question is that, per the pictures in circulation by Okudzeto that we have all sighted, did we see President Nana Addo or any of the people he travelled with sitting in that particular jet?

Why is the media not interrogating the authenticity of the allegations made by Hon Okudzeto?

Where is the prove that the president used that particular jet and paid $14,000 per hour?

You can’t just go and download any luxurious jet from google, check it’s hiring price and expect us to believe the president travelled with it.

Okudzeto Ablakwa and the NDC are only being mischievous and throwing dust into the eyes of Ghanaians.

The MP must provide documents to substantiate his allegations.

The source of Hon Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa’s pictures are all other information about the jet is google yet due to his malicious intentions failed to acknowledge same. Find the link attached.

I am calling on all well meaning Ghanaians to visit the link above, compare and contrast the information there with that of what was circulated by the North Tong MP.

Okudzeto Ablakwa copied and pasted every piece of his write up from the website and maliciously linked same to the recent travels of the President without any prove.

To add to that, at paragraph 10 of Okudzeto Ablakwa’s write up, he acknowledged the fact that the jet supposedly hired by the President has the capacity to accommodate only 19 persons.

It is clear that the number of people who travelled with the President exceeds the required number of persons allowed to be on the flight.

In furtherance of the above, I will be petitioning the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service to institute immediate Investigations against Hon Okudzeto Ablakwa on grounds of publishing false news as provided for in section 208 of the Criminal Act, 1960 Act 29
