Daniel Craig, the James Bond actor, has revealed that he will not leave his fortune to his children because he finds inheritance “distasteful.”

In an interview with Candis Magazine in the United Kingdom, the award-winning English actor, who has a net worth of $160 million, stated that he does not want to “leave great sums to the next generation” and intends to give his fortune away instead.

Mr Craig also mentioned Andrew Carnegie, a Scottish-born American industrialist who was one of the wealthiest men in history.

“Isn’t there an adage that says if you die rich, you’ve failed?”

“I believe Andrew Carnegie gave away what would be about $11 billion in today’s money, demonstrating how wealthy he was because I’m sure he kept some of it as well.

“However, I don’t want to leave large sums to the next generation. I find inheritance to be quite repulsive. My philosophy is to get rid of or give away everything before you leave.”

The 007 actor has two children: Ella, his ex-wife Fiona Loudon’s daughter, and Rachel Weisz, his wife. He also has a teenage stepson, Henry, from his previous relationship with Weisz.
