Ghanaians should, at last, be expecting a track from Sarkodie that addresses pertinent issues in the country that need urgent attention especially the intermittent supply of power aka “Dumsor”.

The rapper has said he is thinking of releasing a “Dumsor” track to address the onset of the irregular supply of power some Ghanaians in many parts of the country are faced with.

The Sarkcess CEO has come under severe criticism for refusing to address the ills of the current government just as he was doing during the tenure of the erstwhile Mahama administration.

Between 2013 and 2016, Sarkodie released a number of songs to address national issues and to speak truth to power. He was forceful in his demands and put the frustrations, feelings and disappointments of Ghanaians at the time into proper perspective.

Songs like “Masses, Dumsor, Inflation etc occupied the airwaves as Sarkodie lyrically lambasted the government and heaved hot coals on its head.

Fast forward, Sarkodie appears to be sitting on the fence as far as criticizing the Akufo-Addo administration is concerned. When he released the “Happy Day” track where he sort of endorsed Akufo-Addo for the 2020 election, it was certainly the last straw that will break his back.

During an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM today, Sarkodie has intimated that he is readying to release a track on “Dumsor” since he feels the doomsday of power irregularities is beginning to come back.
