According to the Multimedia broadcaster, banning the SarkNation boss from exhibiting photos of himself smoking cigar on social media will not stop most of the youth who engages in smoking to stop because Sarkodie doesn’t engage in that act.
This was part of Rya’s submission during a panel discussion on this morning’s edition of the ‘Day Break Hitz’ morning show aired on Accra-based Hitz FM and hosted by renowned disc jockey and rapper Andy Dosty.
Recall Sarkodie faced a lot of criticisms and a heavy backlash from social media users and a group called Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) after he posted photos of himself puffing out smoke from a cigar on social media.
Many people and groups have been calling for a ban on the rapper to prevent him from posting such photos of himself smoking on social media because of his influence on his fanbase and on most of the youth in Ghana.
Rya speaking on the issue stated that the youth these people are calling for to protect has been engaging in this act long ago and it’s not banning Sarkodie from exhibiting such photos that will stop these youth from smoking.
