Controversial entertainment pundit, Mr. Logic has opined that the “Adom” hitmaker Diana Hamilton did not win the artiste of the year award at the just ended VGMAs.
Speaking on the United last Saturday, Mr Logic asserted that gospel musicians need not be included in the VGMA Artiste of the year category.
According to him, the gospel is not a genre, thus needs not to be included in the award scheme and also per the compilation of the votes from the board of the VGMA, that of the academy, and votes from the public which constitutes 40% of the entire vote cast, Diana Hamilton did not win the artiste of the year.
He said that the award should be given to an artist who represents the entire industry and all the genres in general and Diana Hamilton playing a single role as a gospel artist is not enough reason for her to be nominated in the category in the first place.
Mr. Logic further stated that there is no award scheme in the world which has gospel musicians dominating their topmost category because it is not a genre.
