Award-winning songwriter, Gregory Bortey Newman, well known as King Promise has asserted that he does not value awards in his career.

Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, King Promise said that he is never bothered if the various award bodies in the country do not recognize his works.
According to him, he has always been the most streamed artiste on all musical platforms and to him, as long as he makes his money from his streams, shows, and deals, he is content.
He indicated that if he had paid attention to awards, he would have been broken by now, as he has been snubbed by awards systems on many occasions.
The mentality from the inception has been not to acre about awards. I would have been broken by now if I paid attention to awards

I am the most-streamed Ghanaian artiste of all time. I am making my money from streams, shows, and deals. Not winning awards do not get to me that much, he added.
As a reminder, King Promise managed to grad three nominations in the upcoming Vodafone Ghana Awards.
Meanwhile, King Promise has revealed his intentions to ‘spoil’ his left arm with tattoos in the near future.
He made this revelation while speaking in an interview with Abeiku Santana on the Ekwansodwodwo show on Okay FM. He also said that he would have loved to do more on his body but his mother has advised him to stop so, he will tattoo her name and that of his kid on his left arm and after that, no more tattoos.
