Mzbel has complained about the rampant verbal abuse, trolling and other forms of cyber bullying on social media.

On Accra100.5FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo with Nana Rome today, the songstress remarked that the abuse on social media currently is too much. Therefore, to manage it, laws should be enforced to punish cyber bullies.

“I don’t know about Nigeria and other countries but here in Ghana, from what I’ve seen so far and from my own experience. I think that people take advantage of social media to do inappropriate things we abuse it. The abuse on social media is too much,” Mzbel said.

“There could be laws put in place and enforced to punish people who do certain things on social media. We have to create awareness about it otherwise everyone will just abuse anyone devoid of the person’s age, status or ethnicity, just because they disagree on certain issues,” she added.

“Everybody is a blogger now because they have data on their phones but I don’t think it has to be that way,” the ’16 Years’ singer continued.

She also charged internet users to desist from spreading false information by fact checking whatever information they want to post.

Mzbel also noted that one con of social media is that it is a “weapon” due to the fact that “it can be used to dent your image in seconds.”
