The flagbearer of the Opposition, National Democratic Congress, Former President John Mahama has described the just ended voter registration as a successful one.
Speaking in an interview in a live streaming via Facebook, he stated that exercise meet their expectations.
The NDC initially opposed the Electoral Commission compilation of the new voter register before supreme court ruled to give the EC the green light for the compilation.
According to John Mahama, the reason why he claimed that it was successful is despite the high turnout, the EC has succeeded in taking out ghost names which existed in the old register.
He added that their initial resistance to the EC’s voters registration was because there was not a national populations census prior to the registration.
President John Mahama emphasized that the NDC was on the view that the old register could be used to save money.
