Sarkodie’s iconic status is now unquestionable and like the unselfish leader that he is, he decided to give the spotlight to some emerging artistes to grow their wings and soar as high that they could. This gave birth to his highly commendable Biibi Ba project.

He released the bars, the beat, and he rhythm and asked emerging acts who want the pedestal that will shoot them to stardom to jump on it- which later became the #BiibiBaChallenge. Eventually, Sarkodie settled on the following up and coming rappers to join the train for the official release of the song; Lyrical Joe, Tulenkey, Frequency, Kofi Mole, Toy Boi, Yeyo, Amerado, 2 Fyngers, OBKAY and CJ Biggerman.

Two years down the lane, the rappers who featured on the song are yet to explode. The rare opportunity given to them by the multiple award-winning rapper did not translate into superstardom. But that’s not the case for all of them.

Two of his ‘sons’ from the Biibi Ba project are making waves currently and this write-up will throw the spotlight on them in a jiffy; Kofi Mole and Tulenkey.

Kofi Mole

Kofi Mole, born Edward Kofi Agyemang Amoah released ‘Don’t Be Late’ which is the biggest Hiphop song released in 2019. Fans are already rooting for it to be awarded Vodafone Hiphop Song of the Year at the next edition of the award ceremony. Kofi Mole himself believe in that assertion when he said in an interview on the E with Becks show that indeed ‘Don’t Be Late’ is a banger that needs that recognition.

‘I think ‘Don’t Be Late’ is like, hands-down, hip hop song of the year, no hip hop song matches it. It was number one on Apple for like one straight month. At the time Burna Boy had other songs, Koffee was out and Teni’s For Your Case,’ he stated.

The rapper also got mainstream relevance with another hit song dubbed ‘Mensah’ featuring BET Award nominee Kwesi Arthur. Indeed Kofi Mole is doing Sakodie proud for taking advantage of ‘Biibi Ba.’

Tulenkey

Tulenkey is also making a name for himself and gaining prominence gradually. His ‘Fvck Boys’ ft Nigerian rappers Falz and Ice Prince plus ‘Your Girlfriend’ have made him a force to reckon with and it’s refreshing that he’s steadily keeping that momentum. He attributed his success in the game to the patience he had in studying the rudiments of the terrain before he sprouted.

‘I took my time to study the game when I was underground. I learned a lot from local and international artistes,’ he had said on Hitz FM.
