The much-anticipated music video of Ghana’s Dancehall frontrunner, Shatta Wale, and American superstar has been released.

The African-themed music video has been widely accepted by Ghanaians and music lovers across the world owing to the diversity and other potpourri of elements Beyonce and her team employed.

‘This soundtrack is a love letter to Africa and I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa, and not just use some of the sounds and did my interpretation of it,’ Beyonce had told ABC News when quizzed on why she decided to ‘infiltrate’ Africa to scout for top African stars for her huge project.

The album which features some well-known artistes like Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, and her husband Jay-Z which was released on Friday (July 19), seamlessly blends afrobeat, rap, R&B and pop in what the superstar calls her “love letter to Africa.”

The Gift also features some of Africa’s biggest artists, including Nigeria’s Wizkid, Tiwa Savage and Burna Boy, and a host of others. Beyond the euphoria Shatta Wale’s fans and admittedly all Ghanaians are currently basking in this very minute, let’s take a look at some of the talking points of this project that most people haven’t noticed yet.

1. Shatta Wale displayed the Ghana flag

Shatta Wale, as patriotic as he is, displayed the Ghana flag in the video which has been hailed by a lot of entertainment enthusiasts. It shows how he wants to project the image of Ghana through this great and rare opportunity he had with the multiple award-winning American artistes.

2. Beyonce did some Ghanaian moves in the song

We all know that aside from the incredible vocal ability of Beyonce, she also a great dancer. In the ‘Already’ music video, she brought out this alluring attribute of her as she ‘killed’ some notable Ghanaian and African dance moves including Zanku and Alkayida. It’s breathtaking watching her adapt so seamlessly to these complex dance moves from our soil.

3. The scene AY Poyoo shot his ‘Goat’ music video was also captured

Ay Poyoo is also taking a bite of the sweet cherry of Shatta Wale after a scene for his ‘Goat’ music video also appeared in the Already music video. It was the same spot with a lot of goats in the background and spoiled car tyres littered all around that Poyoo used.

4. Beyonce came all the way to Ghana for the shoot

Beyonce confirmed in a documentary that she flew to Ghana to shoot the music video with Shatta Wale. This clarification hit the naysayers like a thunderbolt as they claimed she shot her part of the video differently while Shatta Wale did his in isolation- as it were. This development also put the detractors of Shatta Wale who poked fun at him saying Beyonce will never shoot the music video with him to bed.

5. Song hit over 9.8 million views in just 4-days

As at press time, the video has hit over 3.7 views on YouTube. It’s definitely going to be a great opportunity for Shatta Wale.
