Tottenham Hotspur manager, Jose Mourinho, has revealed why Sheffield United defeated his team 3-1 in the Premier League on Thursday.

Mourinho, who admitted that he was disappointed with the outcome of the match, said his players did have the chances to change the game against Sheffield in the first half during the encounter, despite having more possession.

Sheffield defeated Tottenham at home thanks to three goals from Sander Berge, Lys Mousset and Oli McBurnie

Harry Kane did score a late goal for Spurs as Mourinho’s men were unable to salvage a point against the host.

“I have to admit I am disappointed,” Mourinho was quoted by Football London as saying after the match.

“We have to do better. We have to be mentally stronger to cope with what happened in the game.

“We cannot mentally die after Michael Oliver’s decision. I know it is difficult to take.

“In the second half we had the ball, but we didn’t have chances to change the game.”

Tottenham’s next Premier League clash is against Everton.
