V/R: AGI donates GHC10k, relief items to support Covid-19 fight

The Volta/Oti/Eastern Regional branch of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) has donated an amount of GH¢10,000 and some other assorted items in support of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in the Volta region.

The Vice Chairperson of the Association, Mrs. Lucy Tenkorang and Mr. Dela Agbeve -a member of the Association, presented the items to the Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa on Wednesday at the Volta Regional Coordinating Council in Ho.

According to Mrs. Tenkorang, the gesture was the AGI’s own small contribution towards the fight against the pandemic despite its members being hard hit.

The items include, 2 crates of Lucozade Energy Drink, 10 packs of bottled Malt, 2 Infrared Thermometers, 20 loaves of bread and 100 pieces locally-made face masks.

In addition, 5 rolls of paper towels, 5 boxes of surgical masks, 25 gallons of liquid soap, 10 boxes of hand sanitizers, and 20 packs of bottled water were also donated.

Receiving the items, the Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa expressed his gratitude to the AGI for the gesture, while indicating that it will compliment government’s efforts in fighting and containing the spread of the pandemic.

Items according Dr. Letsa would be distributed to the UHAS COVID-19 Testing Centre, and the COVID-19 Treatment Centres among others.

Present at the brief ceremony were the Deputy Regional Minister, Rev. Johnson Avuletey; Chief Director of the Coordinating Council, Mr. Felix B. Chaahaah; Chief Executive Officer of the Ho Teaching Hospital, Dr. John Tampuri; and Director of Administration of the Ho Teaching Hospital, Mr. George Tetteh.
