Highly Spiritual label signee, Mr. Drew released a new song with Stonebwoy titled, Eat not too long ago. YouTube took the video down after Rotimi’s record label, EMPIRE made copyright infringement claims against Mr Drew’s song.
Reacting to all this brouhaha, dancehall act, Stonebwoy who was featured on the song told Andy Dosty on Hitz FM that, he was thinking Kaywa contacted Rotimi’s team, and was granted permission before he released the song.
“You know Kaywa is a big man in this industry, and so i thought his Highly Spiritual Record Label contacted Rotimi’s team, did all the necessary arrangements and agreement before finally releasing Mr. Drew’s song, but i’m sure they’ve started talking with Rotimi’s team to sort things out”.
Mr. Drew also said on the show that,
“Stonebwoy actually thought my team had done due diligence, as in sought permission for “Eat” with Rotimi and his team before releasing the song. I’m sorry to Stonebwoy, and sorry to Rotimi too”
