Ghanaian actor cum politician, John Dumelo has stated the absorption of water bills by the government for three months will only be beneficial to the rich in the society.
the Member of Parliament aspirant for Ayawaso West Wuogon disclosed that low income class who constitute majority of the population in Ghana don’t rely on Ghana Water Company (GWC) for their source of water. He explained that they usually depend of water tanks for their source of water.

Taking to his social media page, John Dumelo wrote;
“I feel this 3 months free water for all is good but will only benefit the middle and upper class. Those in the lower income bracket( they are the majority) still buy water in their neighborhoods from those who sell them in Polytanks.”
Cost of Govt’s water bill in its quest to absorb 3 months water bills of Ghanaians revealed
Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo addressed the nation on 5th April 2020 that Government will absorb the water bills for all Ghanaians for the next three months, that is April, May and June. All water tankers, publicly and privately-owned, are also going to be mobilised to ensure the supply of water to all vulnerable communities.
