Ghana Armed Forces Will Deal With Army Officer Who Abused Kasoa Resident

On 30th March 2020, Ghana went on lockdown following the president’s order as a means of stopping the further spread of the deadly coronavirus which is steady gaining root in the country.

As a means of ensuring lockdown rules are followed, security personnels deployed into restricted zones were seen brutalizing and abusing people in the restricted areas. A case is a resident of Kasoa who was punished to do continuous frog jumps for filming the officers who were restraining people from going about their duties.

The unidentified soldier was heard asking the poor man to move onto the street for his girlfriend to see him doing frog jumps. He said;

“Go to the road, your girlfriend will see you. You were videoing me so that your girlfriend will say I am wicked”.

According to celebritiesbuzz.com, Lt. Col. Appah who was questioned on the video by Citi Fm said that it wasn’t right and the soldier will be dealt with severely when found. The soldier who was in the video looked hard to identify but if found, he would be sanctioned for the act.

“The soldier was wearing a hood and it is difficult to identify him in the video. Incidentally, our area is a reserved place where we have our headquarters. We have about 40 to 50 soldiers there. So, it is difficult to identify which soldier did that. But I’m still looking for him to find out why he did that and give appropriate sanctions,” the Colonel said.
