RUSTENBURG – Suspended National Fishing Corporation (Fishcor) boss Mike Nghipunya was arrested on Monday in connection with the Fishrot corruption scandal, the Namibian newspaper reported.

Nghipunya was suspended last year from his position as the chief executive officer after he was implicated in the scandal, which paid over N$100 million in bribes and kickbacks to prominent government officials and their cronies.

He was expected to appear in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
