AFCON 2021 qualifier: NFF confirm venue, date of Nigeria’s clash with Sierra Leone

Nigeria will host Sierra Leone in next month’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta state, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed.

The game will be played on March 27.

“We have finally settled for the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba for the qualifying match against Sierra Leone.

“The match will be played on Friday, 27th March 2020,” NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, said.

With the NFF having picked March 27 for the first match, the Sierra Leone Football Association will most likely choose Tuesday, 31st March for the return leg in Freetown.

A win against their fellow West Africans in Asaba, will see the Super Eagles edge closer to qualification.

Gernot Rohr’s men are currently top of the group with the maximum six points from their first two matches and a goals difference of plus three.

They beat Benin Republic 2-1 in Uyo and thrashed Lesotho 4-2 in Maseru.
