African parents do the most when it comes to punishing their wards for a wrong deed. Most parents give out punishments as a means of correcting them whilst others do it to hurt their wards.
Pre-marital sex and teenage pregnancy are the two major things African parent do not accept throughout their children’s life until they are of age and are married. Any child who goes contrary to the rule of abstinence gets punished.

In a picture circulating online, a young man has been punished by his parent for impregnating his girlfriend. He was made to stand in the scorching sun with a placard which reads:
“I got a girl pregnant and this is my punishment, courtesy, Mum & Dad”
