A coconut seller plying his trade at Adjiringanor
in Accra broke down in tears whilst doing business one Saturday after a rich
footballer stop by at his spot.
The coconut seller’s life was completely transformed
after Togolese International footballer Sheyi Emmanuel Adebayor stormed his
tent to buy some coconut for a drink.
Adebayor shared the life-fulfilling experience
with the young man on social media where he revealed to have purchased a
coconut for GHC200.00 which originally is sold at GHC2.00.
The former Real Madrid attacker invited some known celebrities in Ghana including Stonebwoy, King Promise and even corporate entities like HiSense to bring smiles on the face of the young businessman who according to Adebayo is the CEO of Virgin Fresh Coconut.
The man shed tears looking at how much he made after Adebayor bought all the coconuts.
Adebayor on his Instagram handle wrote;
“SEA, Yesterday was a successful #CoconutFriday. I promised @samuel.acheampong.58323431 owner of Virgin Fresh Coconut, that I would bring my team and celebrity friends. Usually, one coconut goes for 2GH Cedis, but for that day we paid 200GH Cedis per coconut.
I offered to match the total amount of sales that day. To his surprise, more and more celebrities kept arriving and a huge crowd assembled by his stand. @hisense_ghana also joined the party and made a huge contribution.
At the end of the day, we made them count. Words cannot describe the feeling when I saw the emotion on his face as he realized the total amount of money raised that day. I would like to thank everyone that joined me in supporting this man’s business (Virgin Fresh Coconut).
