Legendary Nigerian singer, D’banj has taken to his Twitter account to encourage Afro-fusion artiste, Burna Boy as he stands a chance bag the Grammy award.
Burna Boy’s album, African Giant has been nominated in the Best World Music Album category.
The ‘Ye’ crooner was nominated in the category alongside Altin Gün for Gece, Bokanté & Metropole Orkest Conducted By Jules Buckley for What Heat, Nathalie Joachim With Spektral Quartet for Fanm D’Ayiti, and Angelique Kidjo for Celia.
This will really a big one for Nigeria if he eventually wins as other veteran musicians, King Sunny Ade, Femi Kuti, Seun Kuti and Egypt 80, and Babatunde Olatunji, have all been nominated for the Grammy Award, but none of them managed to bag any.
Taking to the microblogging site, D’banj wished the singer the best of luck as he brings the award home.
