Asante Akyem South Youth Coalition, a group of youth activists, has asked former President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) Bice ‘Obour’ Osei Kuffour to contest in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary primaries to be held in April 2020.

The Coalition, made up of various youth groups from the Asante Akyem South Constituency, on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, paid a courtesy call on Bice Osei Kuffour, popularly known as Obour, at his residence in Juaso and also matched along the principal streets of Juaso, dancing and chanting Obour’s name as their next Member of Parliament.

Presenting their petition to Obour, the members described the former MUSIGA president as someone who has the potential to best represent them in Parliament.

They also noted that the constituency has suffered inadequate social infrastructure, massive under-development of the area, and lack of political commitment to the growth and development of the constituency.

They believed that per the works he has done with the Christiana Addo Memorial Foundation, he, Obour, is their only hope for 2020 and beyond.

Responding to the teeming youth, Obour showed admiration at the group’s gesture and promised to give them a response by Friday, January 24, 2020.

The NPP has officially opened nominations for all prospective parliamentary aspirants for the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
