Reggae/Dancehall act, Stonebwoy has been very vocal lately about the ban Vodafone Ghana Awards (VGMA) imposed on them- he and Shatta Wale and its related matters.

In an interview with MzGee on 3FM, Stonebowy stated that he and Shatta Wale  have solid brands already so ultimately the ban has not affected them in any way.

He said since they are at this level of their career, it will be good if they are invited to perform with other brands to spice up the awards night.

“Lifting of the ban will serve as an advantage to the award scheme and not necessarily the artistes involved because they will have some of Ghana’s top artistes to get involved in the scheme”.

Stonebwoy further added he will continue to churn out hit songs to entertain his fans whether the ban is lifted or not.

On the same platform, Stonebwoy shot back at veteran Highlife singer Rex Omar who insisted their ban should not be lifted since they are not bigger than the VGMAs.

According to Stonebwoy, Rex Omar’s concern should rather be how to man the affairs of GHAMRO and leave matters of VGMAs to the appropriate people to handle.

“I believe he is the boss of GHAMRO or whatever it is. He has work to be done at GHAMRO. He can actually leave VGMA matter for VGMA except he is part of the board,” he told MzGee, the host.
