There is a whole generation of young emerging artistes in Nigeria, taking the music industry by a storm. Their unique sound and amazing creativity have seen them get a good spot in a highly competitive industry.
Hip-hop and Afro-pop music lovers in the country, definitely have a favourite addition to their playlist and songs like “Jealous” by Fireboy and have been on repeat at some point.
Our focus today is on the budding star, Fireboy whose real name is Adedamola Adefolahan.
Fireboy was born on 5th February 1996 and he’s from Abeokuta in Ogun State, Nigeria.
The musician, songwriter, Afro-pop singer, is currently signed to YBNL, owned by singer and rapper, Olamide Adedeji simply known as Olamide or Olamide Baddo.
“Fireboy”, completed his primary and secondary education in Abeokuta, Ogun State, southwest Nigeria.
Upon completing his secondary education in Abeokuta, he proceeded to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, where he studied English.
Fireboy began singing in churches and schools at a very young age and during his days as an undergraduate at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, his love for music had grown so much he became quite popular in school.
Olamide, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of YBNL signed Fireboy into the company in October 2018. He confirmed the signing in a welcome note he published on his Instagram handle.

According to report, the new artist was brought into the record label to replace Adekunle Gold, who left the label after releasing his debut album entitled “LIFE”.
Things quickly moved for the youngster and in 2019, he released his most famous single/track entitled “Jealous”.
The fame of Jealousy spread like wide fire in the harmattan and gained a wide acceptance by his fans and lovers of Nigerian Afro-Pop music.
Jealousy also made it into the top 5 of almost all listings and music billboard charts.
After Jealousy, Fireboy released some other tracks, which include; King, Jealous, Don’t say no, A joke, Give me love, G-Strings, Star, You’ll be fine, What if I say and Charging.
The youngster also came up with Laughter, Tears & Goosebumps.
