Flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama, has said his return to power will see massive transformation in various sectors, especially education.

This transformation, he said, includes the abolishing of the double track system under free SHS and free Technical and Vocational Education (TVET) at all levels.

He emphasized that one thing we won’t do will be to buy past questions for students just to pass exams.

His statement falls at the back of government’s plan to procure 40,000 sets of questions and answers booklets from the West African Examination Council (WAEC) for distribution to the first batch of beneficiaries of the Free Senior High School Policy.

According to government, this will guide the students in their preparations and help them excel in their upcoming exams in April 2020.

Speaking at the launch of a fund-raising platform to support the NDC, the former president said when voted into power come 2020, he won’t “buy past questions for student”.

He also assured teachers, he will bring back automatic promotion when voted into power come December.

“We will bring back the automatic promotion of teachers. And cancel the teacher licensure exams. They say that we introduced the licensure exams; to be clear we never sort to use exams as a means of licensing teachers,” he added.
