\/>\nKasoa-Kpormutey in the Central Region, has donated assorted items to children<br \/>\nwith cerebral palsy through the \u2018Givers Never Lack Foundation.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">The Givers Never<br \/>\nLack Foundation is a Non-Governmental and not-for-profit organisation<br \/>\nadvocating the welfare of persons with special needs, especially children with<br \/>\ncerebral palsy, and offers them financial, psychological, and social support.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">The items included<br \/>\nbags of rice, soft drinks, biscuits, detergents, bathing and washing soap,<br \/>\ndiapers, clothes, and antiseptics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Prophet Moses Quaye,<br \/>\nthe General Overseer of the Church, said many a time children with cerebral<br \/>\npalsy were tagged as \u201cchildren given away by water goddesses, a name which led<br \/>\nto their stigmatisation in the society.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">This made them<br \/>\nunderserved and less-privileged in society, he said, and that touched the<br \/>\nhearts of members of the church to put a smile on their faces.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">He said it was<br \/>\nunfortunate some members of the public stigmatised persons with cerebral palsy<br \/>\nas they also had potentials and not the least of human beings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Prophet Quaye<br \/>\nencouraged churches to redirect their focus on marginalised people in society<br \/>\nas that was a true way to serve <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">God.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">He gave an assurance<br \/>\nthat the Church would support the Foundation, whenever it had funds, to put up<br \/>\na building to house such children to give them better care.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">He advised women to<br \/>\ndesist from self-medication while pregnant to avoid putting the foetuses\u2019 lives<br \/>\nin danger.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Mr Edward Amankwah,<br \/>\nthe Founder of the Givers Never Lack, expressed gratitude to the Church for<br \/>\nrecognising the plight of the children and remembering them in the New Year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">He said persons with<br \/>\ncerebral palsy and their families faced financial challenges and<br \/>\nstigmatisation, which were threats to their welfare and progress.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">\u201cAs a father of a<br \/>\nson with the disorder I can say it is not easy at all, in the midst of<br \/>\nstigmatisation, rejections, financial problems, and name calling.
