{"id":779248,"date":"2020-01-09T12:21:15","date_gmt":"2020-01-09T12:21:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2020\/01\/09\/us-olympic-athlete-made-development-queen-mother-at-twifo-traditional-area\/"},"modified":"2020-01-09T12:21:15","modified_gmt":"2020-01-09T12:21:15","slug":"us-olympic-athlete-made-development-queen-mother-at-twifo-traditional-area","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2019\/01\/09\/us-olympic-athlete-made-development-queen-mother-at-twifo-traditional-area\/","title":{"rendered":"US Olympic athlete made development queen mother at Twifo Traditional area"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"floatLeft\">General News of Thursday,  9 January 2020<\/p>\n<p class=\"floatRight\"><strong>Source: <\/strong>Graphic.com.gh <\/p>\n<p>2020-01-09<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-left\">\n<p class=\"article-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/25208670.295.jpg\" alt=\"Lorna Mae Johnson has been enstooled development queen of Twifo Traditional area\" title=\"Lorna Mae Johnson has been enstooled development queen of Twifo Traditional area\" width=\"295\" height=\"286\" \/><span class=\"image_caption\"><span>Lorna Mae Johnson has been enstooled development queen of Twifo Traditional area<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"clear:right\" id=\"article-123\"> A philanthropist and former appointee of President Barack Obama to the President\u2019s Advisory Committee on Arts at the Kennedy Centre, Ms Lorna Mae Johnson has been enstooled development queen of Twifo Traditional area in the Central region of Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Johnson was enstooled with the name Nana Ama Boafoah I.<\/p>\n<p>The colourful ceremony formed part of the Adae Kese3 festival of the Twifo Traditional area attracted hundreds of indigenes of Twifo to the ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Lot Amos, a farmer was also officially outdoored as Dwomarkwahene of the Twifo Tradtional area.<\/p>\n<p>They both swore the oath of allegiance to the Omanhene of the area, Obrempong Appiah Nuamah.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Johnson, once an Olympic qualifying athlete and an entrepreneur of Cuban and Jamaica descent also served as a member of the President\u2019s Advisory Board, the Health Committee and the National finance Committee.<\/p>\n<p>She is also a past president of the Los Angeles local chamber of Commerce and was named one of the Seven Wonder Women of the World by the London based organization, Investing In Women.<\/p>\n<p>She is currently the honorary consul of the Jamaica in Los Angeles and the Assistant Treasurer of the US Democratic National Committee<\/p>\n<p>In her address, Ms Johnson pledged to work to expose young girls in the area to technology and coding by partnering with organizations in the United States and to work with schools in the United States to create an exchange programme for culture exchanges.<\/p>\n<p>She also pledged to use her established network of investors to invest in a medical facility to enhance women\u2019s health and to provide state of the art facilities for schools in the area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy greatest desire in life is to impact lives worldwide particularly women and girls.
