They are to re-appear<br \/>\nbefore the court on 13th February 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Police Chief Inspector Faustina Celestina<br \/>\nAnaman told the court presided over by Mr Emmanuel Bart-Plange Brew that the<br \/>\nAsangrangwa Police Command had a tip-off that some miscreants were peddling<br \/>\nnarcotic drugs at Dominase and its environs in the Wassa Amenfi West<br \/>\nMunicipality.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">The tip-off also had it that the suspects<br \/>\nwere equally initiating the youth into the said business (narcotic drugs).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Based on the information, the Asangrangwa<br \/>\npolice laid surveillance and bought wrappers of substance suspected to be<br \/>\ncannabis sativa (Indian hemp) from the suspects in order for easy<br \/>\nidentification, should the police chanced on them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">On May 29, last year, between 1800 and 1930<br \/>\nhours, Chief Inspector Anaman said the District Commander and Divisional Crime<br \/>\nOfficer of Asankrangwa, led a team of policemen to Dominase \u2013Nkwanta and<br \/>\nDominase near Asankrangwa, where the alleged drug dealers were transacting<br \/>\ntheir business<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">She said the team was divided into two<br \/>\nplatoons for the villages and the first suspect, Sia, was seen holding a<br \/>\npolythene bag at Dominase.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">The suspect on seeing the police, abandoned<br \/>\nthe bag and fled, but he was pursued and arrested and when the bag was searched,<br \/>\na parcel and some quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp was<br \/>\nfound in it, prosecution narrated to the court.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">The prosecutor said, the second suspect,<br \/>\nSeiba, was also seen at Dominase-Nkwanta actively working on some dried leaves<br \/>\nsuspected to be Indian hemp in a rubber bucket and he was apprehended together<br \/>\nwith the exhibits.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Inspector Anaman said the suspects were<br \/>\nbrought to the Asankrangwa Police Station where a formal complaint was lodged<br \/>\nand they were detained for further investigations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">She told the court that their caution<br \/>\nstatements were taken and the exhibits were also prepared and concealed in a<br \/>\nbrown envelop all in the presence of an independent witness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">The exhibits have been forwarded to the<br \/>\nPolice Forensic Crime Laboratory for examination and report, and after<br \/>\ninvestigation both suspects were charged with the offence, she added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">GNA<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Erica Apeatua Addo, GNA\u00a0 Tarkwa (W\/R), Jan. 09, GNA &#8211; A Tarkwa Circuit Court has admitted two persons to bail in the sum of GH\u00a210,000.00 each, with a surety for each, for possessing narcotic drugs without lawful authority.
