Colombian singer, songwriter, dancer, businesswoman, and philanthropist, Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, popularly known as \u201d Shakira \u201d has stated reasons why she\u2019s not married yet.<\/p>\n
Shakira and her longtime partner Gerard Piqu\u00e9 who plays football for the spanish giants Barcelona have been together for almost 10 years with two sons, Milan and Sasha.<\/p>\n The singer explained in an interview as to why she and her fianc\u00e9 are not married. <\/p>\n She said: <\/p>\n \u201cMarriage scares me. I don\u2019t want him to see me as his wife, but rather as his girlfriend.\u201cIt\u2019s like that forbidden fruit, I prefer to keep him attentive and think that everything is possible depending on his behavior.\u201d <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Shakira, 42, and Gerard, 32, met when the FC Barcelona star was one of the few World Cup players to appear on the singer\u2019s\u00a0Waka Wake\u00a0music video. The mother of two admitted that she couldn\u2019t help but notice her beau when he took the screen.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In a recent interview, the Colombian superstar opened up about her family\u2019s unique dynamic. \u201cWe have never been a traditional couple,\u201d she told Viva Magazine. \u201cWe don\u2019t have a written deal to share the tasks or anything like that, but we both are very involved in parenting and try to sort it out the best we can, we support each other, and we also find a huge help in our families.
