{"id":778951,"date":"2020-01-09T01:04:34","date_gmt":"2020-01-09T01:04:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2020\/01\/09\/20-menzgold-customers-bailed-85-remain-in-custody\/"},"modified":"2020-01-09T01:04:34","modified_gmt":"2020-01-09T01:04:34","slug":"20-menzgold-customers-bailed-85-remain-in-custody","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2019\/01\/09\/20-menzgold-customers-bailed-85-remain-in-custody\/","title":{"rendered":"20 Menzgold customers bailed, 85 remain in custody"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"floatLeft\">General News of Wednesday,  8 January 2020<\/p>\n<p class=\"floatRight\"><strong>Source: <\/strong>www.ghanaweb.com<\/p>\n<p>2020-01-08<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-left\">\n<p class=\"article-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/39660281.295.jpg\" alt=\"The angry customers besieged NAM1's residence demanding for payment due them\" title=\"The angry customers besieged NAM1's residence demanding for payment due them\" width=\"295\" height=\"151\" \/><span class=\"image_caption\"><span>The angry customers besieged NAM1&#8217;s residence demanding for payment due them<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"clear:right\" id=\"article-123\">85, out of some 105 aggrieved Menzgold customers who were arrested after they picketed at the Trasacco residence of gold dealership firm\u2019s CEO, NAM1 remain locked up several hours after they were locked up.<\/p>\n<p>One of the customers who spoke to GhanaWeb indicated that out of the total who were arrested, only 20 of them have been bailed.<\/p>\n<p>Preferring to remain anonymous, the Menzgolder disclosed that the remaining 85 were yet to receive sureties to be bailed; adding that majority of them were from Kumasi in the Ashanti region.<\/p>\n<p>It is unclear when the remaining remanded Menzgold customers will be released.<\/p>\n<p>Over 400 angry customers from different regions converged at the premises of CEO of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah Wednesday morning over unpaid monies.<\/p>\n<p>The customers who arrived in 3 separate buses; two VIPs and a minivan forced their way into the gated residence of Trasacco Valley in Accra after overpowering the security personnel manning the gates.<\/p>\n<p>But for the intervention of the Police, the charged crowd were ready to move heaven and earth to get their monies back.
