Forifori (E\/R), Jan.
\n8, GNA – Madam Monica Kessewaa Amoako, the Eastern Regional Deputy Women’s
\nOrganizer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has organized a charity event for
\ninmates of the Forifori Prison Camp.<\/span><\/p>\n

She said the gesture
\nwas to put a long-lasting smile on the faces of the inmates this new year.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event, which was
\nsolely funded by the philanthropist, saw the inmates feasting on varieties of
\nlocal and continental dishes such as fufu with goat light soup, rice and stew
\nand many more.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking at the
\nevent held at Forifori in the Kwahu Afram Plains South District, Madam Amoako
\nin an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said “she was happy to be
\ncelebrating the festive season with the prisoners.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

She said coming to
\ndine with the inmates, would bring joy and relief to many of them.<\/span><\/p>\n

She said the charity
\nevent, which was joined by the Eastern Regional NPP Executives, fed over 114
\ninmates.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFar from what is
\nbeing heard about these people, as Ghanaians, we can play integral roles in
\nmaking life worth living for them,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Madam Amoako said
\none of her wishes was to support inmates by improving on the living conditions
\nof prisoners in terms of health and other social services.<\/span><\/p>\n

She also donated
\nsanitary products such as washing detergents, toothpastes and brushes, bottled
\nwater and soft drinks to the inmates.<\/span><\/p>\n

The inmates
\nparticipated in fun-filled activities and were treated to good music as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

Superintendent Paul
\nAgyei- Nkansah, the Acting Officer in-charge, thanked Madam Monica Kessewaa
\nAmoako for the gesture and said the inmates needed more of such support from
\nthe public to make them feel good.<\/span><\/p>\n
