Nkawkaw (E\/R), Jan.
\n8, GNA – The Kwahu West Municipal Assembly has organized a Performance Contract
\nAwards event for some selected staff and departmental heads of the assembly.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event, which was
\nto reward their hard work and dedication to the development of the
\nmunicipality, saw them being presented with various items including fridges,
\ntelevision sets, blenders and certificates.<\/span><\/p>\n

At a grand ceremony
\nheld to honour the staff of the assembly, Mr Yaw Owusu Addo, the Municipal
\nChief Executive (MCE), said through the hard work of the staff in the various
\ndepartments in 2018, the District has been adjudged the best performing
\nMunicipality in the Eastern Region.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said the award
\nscheme has been instituted to enable staff of the assembly work harder to merit
\nthe items being presented.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said in the
\nfields of education, sanitation and health, the municipality was doing very
\nwell although there were slight challenges.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr Owusu Addo urged
\nthe workers to continue working hard to support projects that would be executed
\nby the assembly.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said the
\nperformance of candidates in the 2018 Basic Education Certificate examination
\n(BECE) in the municipality was encouraging as 85.8 per cent passed well and
\nthis could be due to the free weekend classes instituted by the assembly for
\nthe candidates.<\/span><\/p>\n
