Campaign to Promote<br \/>\nCivic Education (CPCE), Eco Warriors Movement (EWM) and Green stewardship<br \/>\nInternational (GSI).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">The organisations<br \/>\nprovided sanitation equipment, including rakes, wheel barrows, gloves,<br \/>\npickaxes, head pans, cutlasses, spraying machines, dustbins, weedicides, nose<br \/>\nmasks, shovels, and spades among others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">These items,<br \/>\nestimated to cost about GH\u00a2300,000.00, were supplied free of charge for the<br \/>\nconduct of the exercise aimed at promoting environmental cleanliness and<br \/>\ninstilling communal spirit among the residents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">The sponsors<br \/>\ntogether with Mr. Emmanuel Agyei Anhwere, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the<br \/>\narea, who donated five pairs of Wellington boots and the community members in<br \/>\nthe early hours of Tuesday, swooped to the streets to sweep, clear gutters and<br \/>\ntied up the clinic and market places.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Addressing the<br \/>\ngathering later, Mr Otuo Acheampong, the President of Eco Warriors, challenged<br \/>\nGhanaians to inculcate the habit of cleaning their surroundings as a personal<br \/>\nresponsibility to ensure cleanliness at all times.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">He called on<br \/>\ncommunity members to engage in communal labour as a good sanitation and<br \/>\ndevelopment tool, which he said would \u201cspark a restoration action\u201d in the youth<br \/>\nthrough awareness creation, advocacy and action-led approach.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">He was of the view<br \/>\nthat a youth-driven project would restore degraded landscape and mitigate<br \/>\nclimate change by an integrated and inclusive approach.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">\u201cThis would help<br \/>\ncreate the awareness of the state of the environment to trigger the innate<br \/>\ndesire of humanity to restore, preserve and conserve nature for posterity,\u201d he<br \/>\nsaid.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">He advised that<br \/>\npeople should not wait on their district assemblies to contract sweepers to<br \/>\nclean their communities, stressing: \u201cIt is your civic responsibility to keep<br \/>\nthis community clean&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">GNA<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hiawu Besease (Ash) Jan 8, GNA &#8211;
