Former Lynx Entertainment signee, Mzvee has disclosed\u00a0that her battle with depression has been the\u00a0reason for her two years absence from the music scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She said\u00a0the break was to enable her to engage in \u201csoul searching\u201d at a time where her situation was dire as she was \u201csuper depressed\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was super, super depressed in 2017 and 2018\u201d, she told TV3, Monday.<\/p>\n

This was the first time she has opened up on the issues surrounding her disappearance from the industry.<\/p>\n

She dispelled all rumours that she was pregnant hence her decision to quit music between the period.<\/p>\n

Instead, she explained that her depression took a toll on her professional relationship tremendously.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the midst of all these, the songstress admits she never sought professional help or therapy.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Daavi\u2019 hitmaker revealed that she confided in fellow female artist and best friend, Efya, who helped her to overcome her situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cEfya is amazing,\u201d she said, describing her as the one who understood her condition.<\/p>\n

She acknowledged the support of her family throughout the period she was fighting depression as a major role in helping her overcome.<\/p>\n

The singer, however, defended her action of \u2018unfollowing\u2019 people on social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen my whole depression thing happened I did unfollow people. I just wanted time away. I was lashing out in ways I didn\u2019t even understand. I pulled away from everyone,\u201d she recounted.<\/p>\n

Nonetheless, MzVee has announced that she is officially back to music which she can\u2019t stop with a single titled \u201cSheriff\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it is a good thing I went through what I went through because 2019 made me realize I am a strong person,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n
