{"id":777868,"date":"2020-01-07T16:12:45","date_gmt":"2020-01-07T16:12:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2020\/01\/07\/nana-joins-pastors-wife-mourners\/"},"modified":"2020-01-07T16:12:45","modified_gmt":"2020-01-07T16:12:45","slug":"nana-joins-pastors-wife-mourners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2019\/01\/07\/nana-joins-pastors-wife-mourners\/","title":{"rendered":"Nana Joins Pastor\u2019s Wife Mourners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>President Nana Akufo-Addo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>PRESIDENT NANA Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was among the thousands of mourners who bade farewell to the late Mama Joyce Obeng, in Kumasi, Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The deceased was the wife of Pastor Ransford Obeng, the founder<br \/>\nand head pastor of the Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC), the leading<br \/>\ncharismatic church in Kumasi.<\/p>\n<p>His trip from Accra to Kumasi to partake in the memorial service<br \/>\nfor the woman who did so much to win souls for her husband\u2019s church, underscored<br \/>\nthe importance of the spiritual activity. <\/p>\n<p>The three hour or so activity attracted dignitaries from all<br \/>\nover Ghana, Africa, Asia and Europe to the CCC compound located at Ayigya in<br \/>\nKumasi.<\/p>\n<p>The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, was represented at the programme<br \/>\nby the Asokore Mamponghene, Nana Boakye Ansah Debrah, who led a huge<br \/>\ndelegation.<\/p>\n<p>The main opposition political party in the country, the National<br \/>\nDemocratic Congress (NDC), also sent a high powered delegation led by Asiedu<br \/>\nNketiah, their General Secretary.<\/p>\n<p>The other political parties in the country, top businessmen,<br \/>\ntraditional leaders, the clergy, diplomatic corps, ministers of state and<br \/>\npeople from all walks of life were also present.<\/p>\n<p>Pastor Obeng, the widower, Pastor Joshua Obeng and Eunice Oppong,<br \/>\nchildren of the late Mama Obeng, separately read touching tributes for the<br \/>\ndeceased.<\/p>\n<p>Pastor Obeng lamented about how he would greatly miss a woman,<br \/>\nwho had over the years served as his pillar. This comment led to the mourners<br \/>\nshedding tears.<\/p>\n<p>Preaching the sermon, Dr. Mensah Otabil, the General Overseer of<br \/>\nthe International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), urged Christians not to lament<br \/>\nwhen one dies in the Lord.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, Jesus Christ conquered death therefore those<br \/>\nwho die in Christ would resurrect on the last day and live eternally in heaven as<br \/>\nChrist has promised.<\/p>\n<p>The remains of Mama Obeng, who was deeply loved by the entire<br \/>\ncongregation of CCC when she was alive, were interred on the church premises,<br \/>\namid wailing.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>FROM I.F.
