{"id":777625,"date":"2020-01-07T10:52:26","date_gmt":"2020-01-07T10:52:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2020\/01\/07\/central-region-fisherfolks-demand-meeting-with-akufo-addo\/"},"modified":"2020-01-07T10:52:26","modified_gmt":"2020-01-07T10:52:26","slug":"central-region-fisherfolks-demand-meeting-with-akufo-addo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2019\/01\/07\/central-region-fisherfolks-demand-meeting-with-akufo-addo\/","title":{"rendered":"Central Region fisherfolks demand meeting with Akufo-Addo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\">\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"464\" class=\"entry-thumb td-modal-image\" src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/IMG_1141-696x464.jpg\"   alt=\"\" title=\"IMG_1141\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">President Nana Akufo-Addo<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Central Region Canoe Fishing Council is seeking an audience with President Nana Akufo-Addo to discuss challenges in the fishing industry.<\/p>\n<p>The Council called on the Central Region Minister, Kwamena Duncan, on Monday urging him to lead them to meet the President to also commend him for the many projects he has started along the coastlines of the region.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/6264942310802_3886894290128.jpeg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>Secretary to the Central Region Canoe Fishing Council, Nana Kwame Yah Ababio III, told Adom News\u2019 correspondent, Justice Sorkpor, after meeting with the regional minister that although the President was honouring his promises some key issues remain.<\/p>\n<p>He said the need for the regular flow of premix fuel and government support in obtaining outboard motors and other fishing equipment are among the key issues the council hopes to discuss with the President.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/8637049018767_2043112477184.jpeg\" alt=\"Kwamena Duncan\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>The Central Region Minister assured the fishermen that he will facilitate and lead the meeting with the President.<\/p>\n<p>He said he constantly reminds the President about his promises to the fishermen during his campaign tour of the region in the lead up to the 2016 elections.<\/p>\n<p>The President promised to construct landing beaches, provide fishing equipment such as outboard motors, fishing nets and others during the 2016 electioneering campaign.<\/p>\n<p>The Central Region currently will have six of the 12 landing beaches being constructed nationwide.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Nana Akufo-Addo The Central Region Canoe Fishing Council is seeking an audience with President Nana Akufo-Addo to discuss challenges in the fishing industry.
