\n steady pursuit of high-quality development, China\u2019s GDP\u00a0<\/span>
\n is expected to edge close to 100 trillion yuan with the per\u00a0<\/span>
\n capita figure reaching the level of 10,000 U.S. dollars.\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\n tough battles.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
\n Hebei Region, the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the\u00a0<\/span>
\n Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area,\u00a0<\/span>
\n and the Yangtze River Delta, all accelerated. Ecological\u00a0<\/span>
\n protection and high-quality development in the Yellow\u00a0<\/span>
\n River basin have become national strategies.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
\n million people have been lifted out of poverty. Our lunar\u00a0<\/span>
\n probe Chang\u2019e-4, for the first time in human history,\u00a0<\/span>
\n landed on the far side of the moon; the Long March-5\u00a0<\/span>
\n Y3 rocket was successfully launched; the Xuelong 2\u00a0<\/span>
\n icebreaker set sail on its maiden voyage to\u00a0 the Antarctic;\u00a0<\/span>
\n the construction of the global network of the BeiDou\u00a0<\/span>
\n Navigation Satellite System is sprinting towards the\u00a0<\/span>
\n finish line; the commercial application of 5G technology\u00a0<\/span>
\n is accelerating; the Beijing Daxing International Airport\u00a0<\/span>
\n \u201cphoenix spread its wings\u201d… all these achievements are\u00a0<\/span>
\n the result of the efforts and sweat of those who strive\u00a0<\/span>
\n in the new era, and they demonstrate extraordinary\u00a0<\/span>
\n Chinese splendor and Chinese strength.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
\n continuously generated vigor for development. The\u00a0<\/span>
\n reform of Party and government institutions has been\u00a0<\/span>
\n successfully completed. We have set up another batch of\u00a0<\/span>
\n pilot free trade zones, and expanded the Shanghai Pilot\u00a0<\/span>
\n Free Trade Zone.\u00a0<\/span>
\n The Science and Technology Innovation Board was\u00a0<\/span>
\n launched smoothly. We have cut taxes and fees by more\u00a0<\/span>
\n than 2 trillion yuan, and raised the individual income\u00a0<\/span>
\n tax threshold.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n first self-developed aircraft carrier was commissioned.\u00a0<\/span>
\n The people\u2019s army will always serve as a great wall of\u00a0<\/span>
\n steel that guards our motherland. Let\u2019s salute those\u00a0<\/span>
\n loyal soldiers who safeguard our home.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
\n celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the founding\u00a0<\/span>
\n of the People\u2019s Republic of China. We cheered for the<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
\n over the past 70 years, and were overwhelmed by the\u00a0<\/span>
\n sheer force of patriotism. The formations during the\u00a0<\/span>
\n military parade were powerful, and the mass pageant\u00a0<\/span>
\n thrilling. Tiananmen Square was turned into a sea of\u00a0<\/span>
\n happiness.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
\n all faces as the song \u201cMy Motherland and I\u201d played\u00a0<\/span>
\n throughout the streets and alleys. Patriotic feelings\u00a0<\/span>
\n brought tears to our eyes, and patriotic spirit forms the\u00a0<\/span>
\n backbone of the Chinese nation. All these merge into\u00a0<\/span>
\n a surging current that sings an ode to New China and\u00a0<\/span>
\n inspires us to work harder in the new era, filling us with\u00a0<\/span>
\n boundless energy.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
\n Tianjin Port is booming, Beijing\u2019s sub-center is thriving,\u00a0<\/span>
\n grasslands in Inner Mongolia are splendid, the Hexi\u00a0<\/span>
\n Corridor, after thousands of years, is teeming with new\u00a0<\/span>
\n life. The winding Yellow River, where the sky is high and\u00a0<\/span>
\n waters are wide, sometimes turbulent, sometimes calm;\u00a0<\/span>
\n on both banks of the Huangpu River, there is plenty and\u00a0<\/span>
\n prosperity, and ribbons of light shine in the night.\u00a0<\/span>
\n Everything is flourishing across our motherland.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
\n my original aspiration. From Yudu in Jiangxi Province\u00a0<\/span>
\n where the Red Army gathered for their Long March, to\u00a0<\/span>
\n the Revolution Museum in Xinxian County in Henan\u00a0<\/span>
\n Province, the former capital of the Hubei-Henan-<\/span>
\n Anhui revolutionary base, from the Monument to the\u00a0<\/span>
\n West Route Army in Gaotai, Gansu Province, to the\u00a0<\/span>
\n revolutionary memorial site in the Fragrant Hills in\u00a0<\/span>
\n Beijing, all these places aroused many feelings and\u00a0<\/span>
\n thoughts in my mind.\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
\n mission are our inexhaustible source of motivation\u00a0<\/span>
\n during our Long March of the new era.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
\n people in the countryside. People shared many of their\u00a0<\/span>
\n innermost thoughts with me, and I always keep them\u00a0<\/span>
\n in mind. I have also received letters from villagers of the\u00a0<\/span>
\n Dulong ethnic group in Gongshan, Yunnan Province;\u00a0<\/span>
\n residents of Xiadang township, Shouning County in\u00a0<\/span>
\n Fujian Province; soldiers of the Wang Jie Squad; the\u00a0<\/span>
\n graduate students of the Class of Champions at Beijing\u00a0<\/span>
\n Sport University; and children and senior volunteers from\u00a0<\/span>
\n Macao. In my reply letters, I applauded the achievements\u00a0<\/span>
\n they had made and sent my best wishes.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
\n touched us deeply. Zhang Fuqing has kept a low profile\u00a0<\/span>
\n and stayed true to his original heart despite the great\u00a0<\/span>
\n contributions he\u2019s made to the nation; Huang Wenxiu\u00a0<\/span>
\n dedicated her youth and life to poverty alleviation; 31\u00a0<\/span>
\n fire fighters sacrificed their lives in the line of duty in\u00a0<\/span>
\n Muli, Sichuan Province; Du Fuguo sacrificed himself to\u00a0<\/span>
\n protect his teammates; and China\u2019s Women\u2019s National\u00a0<\/span>
\n Volleyball Team won the World Cup in an eleven-match\u00a0<\/span>
\n winning streak. Numerous unsung heroes, with neither\u00a0<\/span>
\n complaint nor regret, with dedication. Ordinary people\u00a0<\/span>
\n living extraordinary lives.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
\n wide to embrace the world. We hosted the second Belt\u00a0<\/span>
\n and Road Forum for International Cooperation, the\u00a0<\/span>
\n Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition, the\u00a0<\/span>
\n Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations, and the\u00a0<\/span>
\n second China International Import Expo, showcasing\u00a0<\/span>
\n a civilized, open and inclusive China to the rest of the\u00a0<\/span>
\n world.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
\n government, sharing with them China\u2019s proposals,\u00a0<\/span>
\n promoting friendship and deepening consensus. A few\u00a0<\/span>
\n countries joined hands with us. The number of countries\u00a0<\/span>
\n that have diplomatic ties with China now stands at 180.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
\n finish building a moderately prosperous society in all\u00a0<\/span>
\n respects and realize the first centenary goal. 2020 will\u00a0<\/span>
\n also be a year of decisive victory for the elimination of\u00a0<\/span>
\n poverty.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
\n strengthening our weak links even more and laying a\u00a0<\/span>
\n more solid foundation to win the hard battle against<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
\n rural residents and counties out of poverty by current\u00a0<\/span>
\n standards as scheduled.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
\n 20th anniversary of Macao\u2019s return to the motherland\u00a0<\/span>
\n and felt heartened for the prosperity and stability in\u00a0<\/span>
\n Macao. The successful practice of Macao indicates that\u00a0<\/span>
\n the principle of \u201cOne Country, Two Systems\u201d is fully\u00a0<\/span>
\n applicable, achievable, and popular.\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
\n our hearts have been concerned about the situation in\u00a0<\/span>
\n Hong Kong.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
\n people live in peace and enjoy their work! I sincerely wish\u00a0<\/span>
\n Hong Kong well and our Hong Kong compatriots well.\u00a0<\/span>
