{"id":771017,"date":"2019-12-24T15:34:33","date_gmt":"2019-12-24T15:34:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2019\/12\/24\/education-mahama-not-on-the-grounds-adutwum\/"},"modified":"2019-12-24T15:34:33","modified_gmt":"2019-12-24T15:34:33","slug":"education-mahama-not-on-the-grounds-adutwum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2019\/12\/24\/education-mahama-not-on-the-grounds-adutwum\/","title":{"rendered":"Education: Mahama Not On The Grounds \u2013 Adutwum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Dr Yaw Adutwum<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/starrfm.com.gh\/2019\/12\/education-mahama-not-on-the-grounds-adutwum\/#\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Deputy Education Minister\u00a0 Dr Yaw Adutwum says former President John Mahama is not realistic with his appraisal of Ghana\u2019s educational sector.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the promises on the educational front being made by the former president are already being implemented by government.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Mahama says would make Technical and Vocational Education and Training (<em>TVET<\/em>) free at every level for Ghanaians, in a live Facebook video yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Aside the TVET promise, Mr Mahama also said he will increase the amount of money given to tertiary students by government as loans and also pay it as a monthly stipend to students.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Adutwum in a rebuttal during a press briefing Tuesday, however, said Mr. Mahama has lost touch with the reality.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe president\u00a0 is saying things that are already being done and\u00a0 saying that i\u2019m going to do it when I come. That tells me he is not on the grounds. How can you come and lead the good people of Ghana when you don\u2019t have\u00a0 a team who can even tell you that the things you talking about Mr President is being done already, that concerns me, that seriously concerns me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On reviewing the double-track system, he noted \u201cyou cannot do free senior high school without double track. So there are two things, either you want to lie to Ghanaians which I don\u2019t think a former President will do, or we don\u2019t know, and that is even more serious.
