The session which took place at the Sunyani Technical University, covered<br \/>\nthe four modules of the Bank\u2019s flagship \u2018ReadytoWork\u2019 programme namely Work,<br \/>\nPeople, Money and Entrepreneurial Skills.<\/p>\n<p>The participants, mainly from the Enactus Clubs<br \/>\nat Catholic University College, University of Energy and Natural Resources,<br \/>\nSunyani Technical University and a cross section of unemployed youth, were<br \/>\ntaken through topics such as CV writing, financial literacy, entrepreneurship,<br \/>\nteam work, leadership among others.<\/p>\n<p>The ReadytoWork programme is the bank\u2019s<br \/>\nflagship digital learning curriculum initiative that helps to prepare young<br \/>\npeople for the transition from school to the world of work. It empowers young<br \/>\npeople with the skills they need to enhance their employability and self-employment<br \/>\nprospects.\u00a0The programme offers a certificate after completion of the<br \/>\ncurriculum.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the programme, Priscilla Yeboah,<br \/>\nHead of Citizenship at Barclays Ghana said the ReadytoWork programme, which was<br \/>\nunder the Education and Skills Development Pillar of the bank\u2019s force for good<br \/>\nagenda was in line with the bank\u2019s strategy of \u201cplaying a shaping role in<br \/>\nsociety.\u201d The programme aims at providing the youth with skills and<br \/>\ncapabilities they need to find meaningful employment or start successful<br \/>\nbusiness ventures.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbsa has invested and continues to invest in<br \/>\nthe development of the youth across Africa, including Ghana, through the Absa Scholarships<br \/>\nand ReadytoWork programmes.\u201d Yeboah stated.<\/p>\n<p>The Regional ReadytoWork is part of the bank\u2019s<br \/>\nplan to reach out to the youth in all the regions across the country.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Priscilla Yeboah addressing participants BARCLAYS BANK Ghana, part of the Absa Group, has organised an engagement session for over 350 tertiary students and unemployed graduates in the Sunyani Municipality to empower them with the appropriate skills for a smooth transition into the world of work.
