TRAFFIC FLOW on the streets of Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital, has been impeded, lately.<\/p>\n

An unusual
\nmassive vehicular traffic has been witnessed in the boisterous city nowadays.<\/p>\n

The upcoming
\nChristmas festivities have been identified as the major cause of the huge
\ntraffic on the roads.<\/p>\n

During a visit
\nto Adum, the Central Business District (CBD), on Tuesday, vehicles were almost
\nat standstill.<\/p>\n

The roads were
\nchoked to the extent that the vehicles were not moving, causing discomfort for
\nall road users.<\/p>\n

It was learnt
\nthat moving freely through the city center was almost impossible as the roads
\nwere overcrowded.<\/p>\n

Some of the
\ndrivers, who were looking frustrated, noted that the unusual traffic was an
\nannual ritual in the city.<\/p>\n

They observed
\nthat people from all walks of life flooded Kumasi to shop ahead of the Yuletide
\nseason, annually.<\/p>\n

According to
\nthem, driving through Adum therefore becomes impossible whenever Christmas is
\napproaching.<\/p>\n

The drivers said
\nAsafo, Krofrom, Bantama, Tafo, Atonsu and Abuakwa have also witnessed massive
\ntraffic.<\/p>\n
